Final update before the start!

July 21, 2009

It would be great if you could see what’s happening here. We turned one of our hotel rooms into an office. Here, the jury (Satish Beella, Thies Timmermans and Chris Klok) is reading all reports and other input of the teams until after midnight. The battle staff is finishing off the last preparations for the event. Outside teams are working to fix their autorickshaws (tuktuks) and to be ready for tomorrows start. In the bar downstairs friendships are emerging, growing or are being revived. It is beautiful to be part of this project. The coming four days over 120 people will be working to make India aware that the Green Auto Rickshaws (tuktuks) are coming!  Stef van Dongen

We are almost there!

July 13, 2009

After a hectic period of planning, tuktuks being shipped, traveling to India and now experiencing the warmth (and heat) of this beautiful and promising country, we can announce that the Hybrid Tuktuk Battle is approaching the grand finale in Chennai!

Even the New York Times published about the Battle and interviewed Enviu’s director Stef van Dongen who is now in India with the teams.
